Senate District 11 includes all of Albemarle, Amherst, Charlottesville, and Nelson plus part of western Louisa County. You can verify that you live in Senate District 11 and learn more about the District here.
Virginia's district maps are new this year. These are the first maps in Virginia history that were not drawn by the sitting legislators, which is why the district boundaries now follow county borders.
Register to Vote
You must be 18 years old to vote in the General Election on November 7, 2023. Anyone who is eligible to vote in the General Election can vote in the Primary. Learn more about eligibility.
No, but registering early does make the voting process quicker. The early registration deadline is Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
You can register online if you have a valid Virginia driver's license or state ID card. You can also register in person at your local registrar's office.

Vote Early in Person
Early voting in person starts Friday, May 5 and ends Saturday, June 17, 2023. Early voting is offered on two Saturdays before election day: Saturday, June 10, and Saturday, June 17.

Apply online to request a ballot by Friday, June 9, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.
Ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday, June 20, 2023 and received by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23.
Yes. You can drop off your ballot at your registrar's office or at any polling location on Primary Day before the polls close.

Charlottesville City voters should be aware that the City has new precincts and polling locations this year, so be sure to check yours before you go.
All polling places are open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Anyone who is in line to vote at 7:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
